an air of despondency

Its devoured me,
the manifestation of every one of my thoughts, actions and words
A dark spirit
It’s possessing the divinity of my conscience
Buried so profoundly
I no longer have ownership of the shell that once carried an unimpeachable soul
Its consumed me,
just lurking in the corners.
Amused by my bemusement of how and when I got so lost
Every tear planted seeds for the forest that germinates sadness,
fertilised by the demon living in my amygdala
Its captivated me,
I am a victim to its torment and torture
It lives and breathes,
a presence so profound reminding me why it exists
I'm adrift in the forest we’re so lost in
Tranquility is absent amongst derangement.
